Moravian Watchwords

The Watchwords of the Moravian Church are a devotional booklet with biblical words for each day of the year. In addition to a verse from the Old Testament, which has been drawn from a collection of 1800 verses for that day, there is a text from the New Testament and a song or prayer that continues or interprets the thoughts of the watchword. 

The watchwords are very widely distributed. Day after day, they connect Christians in different cultures and churches, across national and language borders, with a biblical theme of the day that can become food for thought. The watchwords are available in more than 50 languages. In our office in Switzerland, they are available in various European languages as well as in electronic form or as an agenda. For young people, a "Watchword for Young People" is published. German-language watchwords are also available for the deaf and blind.
