Welcome to the Moravian Society in Zurich

Nikolaus Ludwig von Zinzendorf had also visited Zurich in 1735. This gave rise to an important circle of friends of the Herrnhuter in the city in the following years, which took the form of a societät. This means that whoever wants to become a member of the Sozietät must be a member of a church, just as Zinzendorf always wanted. Thus representatives of the Zurich Society are involved in interdenominational and interreligious programmes.
There is a worship service and a Bible discussion at approximately monthly intervals. The meeting place is the former home of the Sozietät, which gave it to the Reformed Church decades ago, the Haus zum Lindentor, Hirschengraben 7, 8001 Zurich.
For a long time, a mission bazaar was held jointly with the Grossmünster congregation every two years in the Helferei. Today, instead of the bazaar, a benefit dinner is offered in September for a project of the Moravian Church. With its liturgical form of "Singstunde", the Society participates in the evening services in the Predigerkirche.
